October 2005 Guatemala Program Update:

Andrea Phillips is the AHH Family Advocate over seeing the Guatemala program. We are so encouraged at how God continues to grow this program. AHH placed 13 children from this country in 2004 and God has blessed 28 AHH families in 2005 with over two months to go.

October has been a busy and exciting month for Guatemala.  We had 2 more children come home thus far in October, and another family will be traveling next week and 2 more will travel at the beginning of November.

We also have been blessed with new babies this month – 5 have been born so far and more are due before the end of the month.  This brings our total number of families with referrals up to 18 ( 3 families are adopting  2 children each). We have 21 children in process right now!  There are 5 babies in PGN, 11 in the DNA and/or Family Court process, 2 waiting on pre-approvals and, of course, 3 families waiting to travel.  AHH has a fantastic partnership with a Christian attorney and staff. They are working extremely hard to unite these Guatemala orphans with their adoptive families! We are so grateful for all that they do.

NOTE: The wait for a referral of a girl is currently longer than the wait for a boy,                  

although most of our families aren’t waiting long to receive either.
