Our Families
The McKiernan Family

This is our daughter! Shannon Marie McKiernan. She was born May 13, 1998 in Jiangxi and was at the Yong Feng Orphanage. Her Chinese name is "Zhou Yongsa" , which was given to her by the Orphanage means "Pretty Little ". They got that right! She was 14lbs at 14 months old, she was "Ity bity". Now she is taller than most s her age and is in excellent health. She is such a joy to us and can't get enough of her.

We had lost our son at birth and tried to move on. Moving on was not easy and acceptance was hard, especially for my wife, Mary. 2 years had passed and she was getting more and more depressed. I never thought about adoption before until I saw something on CNN about the abandon s in China. I
remember watching these little s all holding a ring tied to a rope following an orphanage worker crossing the street, while CNN was reporting the facts about the problem. Something hit me at that point. I mentioned to Mary about the broadcast on CNN, and she was very open to the idea. It restored her hope. Before you know it, we were in China holding this beautiful baby !

God knows your destiny from the moment he had the idea to create you. I feel this was planned by God. I feel that it was destiny that I was "channel surfing" that day and at that time. It was destiny for me to stop and watch these little s. All by God's will. Just like it's your destiny to call Tony and get started on your adoption!
