prayers ,however, He does so in His time not ours.He places dreams on our hearts and leads us to what He knows we need. Sometimes we may be overcome with pure joy as what we recieve may far exceed what we had dreamed of. Our journey to Our Forever Family began as some others do. In 1996 we were blessed with a beautiful baby girl after six years of trying to become pregnant. Katharine Blake was a dream come true! We so wanted to have another child so that she would have a sibling to grow up with. However, after eleven years of multiple miscarriages and infertility treatments our hearts were heavy with pain and grief. But by the grace of God our story did not end here. In 2004 God spoke to me and placed the dream of adopting a little girl from China on my heart. I have always been drawn to China and it's culture so this seemed to make perfect sense. From this day forward God gave me numerous signs that this was the path that He intended for our family to take. These signs were not "coincidences" by any means. I remember the people whose paths crossed with mine vividly and how they inspired me not to lose faith. I shared my dream with my husband, however, still grieving from our losses Ben was fearful of getting his hopes up only to be hurt yet again. After a year or so passed God began to send Ben signs as well. Once he could no longer deny God's intentions he was," cautiously on board!" In May of 2007 we met with A Helping Hand to submit our application to adopt a "little girl as healthy as possible." Just a few short weeks later we began to pursue the Waiting Children as well. Each list for the longest time only had little girls on them which merely reinforced that we would be adopting a daughter. Last March 10th of 2008,our eighteenth wedding anniversary, we were asked to fill out an updated profile for AHH. The box marked "no preference" to the sex of the child seemed to jump out at us but we considered it a "pipe dream." Little boys as healthy as possible, or with mild special needs, just were not available as far as we knew. Never in our wildest dreams could we have fathomed that Dana would call us TWO DAYS later with a referral for a little boy!!! I still get goosebumps when I recall our conversation. Dana said, " Wendy, we have a beautiful baby boy. He is 11 months old and he is precious! He has a heart murmur and that is his special need. No other agency has him on their list so if you want him he is yours. No other families want a little boy." I said," We'll take him!" She said you haven't seen him yet. I told her that I could feel in my heart that this little boy was our child! She e-mailed his medical records and pictures right away. I called Ben immediately and blurted out," We have a SON !!! Pull up your e-mail and look at him ...he's the one!" We cried tears of joy for so long as we both knew that, Xi Xing Wang, was the son that God had intended for us all along!! With the earthquake and summer olympics in China our time to travel seemed to inch along. But by God's grace our prayers were answered as we held our son for the first time on December 6th,2008! It was love at first sight for all of us ...Ben, Blake, and myself !! A son for us and a brother for Blake. Will is so full of love and tenderness. He is truly a little angel sent to us from God. We are eternally grateful and so incredibly blessed. We ask families who are considering adoption to keep their hearts and minds open to the possibilty of adopting a boy. All of God's precious children, both girls and boys, need a Forever Family to call their own!! Wendy and Ben Morris
